Michael Bailey is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University, College of Medicine and a Principal Investigator within the Center for Microbial Pathogenesis at the Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. Bailey has nearly 25 years of experience studying the bidirectional interactions between host physiology and the gut microbiota. He has made important contributions to the field of PsychoNeuroImmunology and to studies involving the Brain-Gut-Microbiota Axis. More recently, he has studied novel probiotic therapies for a number of gastrointestinal conditions and diseases, including necrotizing enterocolitis and Clostridium difficile infection.
