Andrew L. Chang, MD, is a board certified radiation oncologist with over 12 years of experience treating patients with proton therapy. He specializes in treating pediatric cancer patients with proton radiation. Dr. Chang has performed extensive research in the field of proton radiotherapy for pediatric patients, with a particular focus on brain tumors in children. He is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences about proton radiation.

Previously, Dr. Chang was a radiation oncologist at Hampton University Proton Therapy Institute in Hampton, Virginia, where he developed the pediatric oncology service into an international program. Prior to that, he served as the Director of Pediatric Radiation Oncology at the Midwest Proton Radiotherapy Institute in Bloomington, Indiana, with a clinical faculty appointment as an assistant professor at the Indiana University department of Radiation Oncology.

Dr. Chang earned his medical degree at Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California. He completed a pediatric internship and a residency in radiation oncology at Loma Linda University Medical Center. He subsequently did a fellowship in pediatric oncology at St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Tennessee.

In his free time, Dr. Chang enjoys traveling with his wife, reading fiction, playing games, and playing guitar at his church. He also has a wide breath of knowledge on anything Star Wars.
