Dr Zhanhe Wu graduated from Harbin Medical University, China. He worked in cardiology/haematology clinic for 8 years. He received his Master degree on the project of hematopoietic stem cells of leukaemia in 1985 and received his PhD in 1993 from University of New South Wales on the topic of Haematology/Immunology, identified IgG Fc receptors on 5 different types of hematopoietic cells/lines (megakaryocytic lineage). He worked for 2 years on the topic of fetal and maternal immune interactions in University of Sydney from 1995 to 1996. He has published 54 original articles and 4 chapters in books.
Since 1996, he has been working in the field of human genetic disease studies, mainly on the genetic cause of early fetal loss, Fanconi anemia and hematologic malignancies in the Western Sydney Genome Diagnostics, Western Sydney genetic Program, The Children’s Westmead, affiliated to University or Sydney. He is a Founding Fellow of Royal College of Pathologist for Australasia (RCPA), an invited technical assessor in medical laboratory for the National Association of Testing Authority (NATA) and he is also an associate editor for 3 medical journals currently.
